Rebel Insights

Security — WebSocket driver vulnerabilities patched

Two security vulnerabilities in a core WebSocket dependency were patched: one critical issue that could allow message corruption via malformed protocol headers, and a moderate issue that could allow resource limits to be bypassed through message compression abuse.

Why it matters: Keeping platform dependencies patched against known vulnerabilities is core to keeping your site secure. No action needed — handled entirely at the platform level.

Newsletter — duplicate sends on double-click prevented

Double-clicking "Update & Resend Newsletter" in the Entry Editor would trigger two separate save requests, causing the newsletter to be sent twice to platforms like Mailchimp. The button now disables itself immediately after the first click.

Why it matters: Duplicate newsletter sends erode subscriber trust and are hard to walk back. This fix ensures your audience only ever receives one send per update, no matter how quickly the button is clicked.

Posts page — no longer crashes on accented, emoji, or non-Latin tag and section names

The Posts page would crash entirely when filtering by a tag or section whose name contained accented characters, emoji, or non-Latin scripts — such as "Café", "News 🔥", or titles in Arabic, Japanese, or Cyrillic.

Why it matters: Sites publishing multilingual content or using emoji in their taxonomy no longer face page crashes when filtering posts. The platform now reliably handles all languages and character sets.

Engagement Dashboard — now responsive on tablet and mobile

The Engagement Dashboard now adapts responsively from full desktop down to tablet (for side-by-side workflows) and mobile (for the Customers section, used by customer service agents handling escalations on the go).

Why it matters: Teams working in split-screen or on mobile no longer see a broken or cramped layout — the dashboard adapts cleanly to however and wherever you're working.

Broken link replacer — teaser links no longer return 404

When the broken links tool cleared an original URL by setting it to null, a related flag wasn't being updated — causing the post's teaser link to resolve to "/None" and return a 404 to readers.

Why it matters: Teaser links are how posts surface across feeds and homepages. This fix ensures that when a broken link is cleared, the post's share URL stays clean and functional.

Broken Links Dashboard — draft posts no longer appear

The Broken Links Dashboard was surfacing broken external links found inside draft articles, not just published ones. The filtering logic has been corrected to only show broken links from live, published content.

Why it matters: Drafts are works in progress — flagging broken links in unpublished content creates noise and wastes editorial time. The dashboard now reflects only what's live and actually needs fixing.

CDN cache — components using create_element now purge correctly

Components embedded via the create_element method were never receiving a CDN Layout label, making them invisible to the cache purge system. Updates to those components wouldn't clear from the CDN, leaving stale versions served to users after deployments.

Why it matters: Layout changes to these components now propagate correctly after every deployment — no more stale cached versions being served to readers after an update.
