  • Fresh spam update – Google announced that another spam update started rolling out on Sept. 24th and it may take up to two weeks to complete. It will be interesting to see if it targets content that is entirely AI-generated.

Users Dashboard — support for predefined default filters

Custom user dashboard layouts can now load with predefined default filters (by role, status, or group) applied automatically, instead of always showing every user, including community members.

Why it matters: Teams can build focused views — like an editorial dashboard that only shows Admins, Editors, and Guest Writers — without manually filtering every time they visit.

Media Library — search by image URL, plus clearer delete errors

The Media Library now lets users paste a full image URL into search and automatically extracts the image ID to find the asset. Failed image deletions also now surface a clear error dialog explaining what went wrong (e.g., permission issues).

Why it matters: Users no longer have to manually dig an ID out of a URL to find an asset, and a failed delete no longer fails silently — people can see and act on the actual reason.

Entry Editor — character limit added to slug fields

Post and particle slug inputs now enforce a 200-character limit directly in the editor, with sanitized paste handling and visual warning feedback when the limit is hit.

Why it matters: Previously, long slugs failed only after saving, with a backend validation error. Now the limit is caught upfront, preventing failed saves and confusing errors.

User Dashboard — fixed CSV export stalling on large datasets

Fixed an issue where exporting a User Dashboard CSV (e.g., with ID, Created Date, and Last Login fields) would stall and never complete, with no export or notification email delivered.

Why it matters: Teams exporting larger user datasets can now reliably get their completed CSV and the expected notification, instead of an export that hangs indefinitely.

Fixed missing seller data in post author payloads

Resolved an issue where seller information displayed on post pages was missing from post author records across posts, caused by a null-handling error in the author metadata path.

Why it matters: Seller-specific details tied to authors now display correctly on posts again, restoring information customers rely on for post pages.

Reporting tabs — consistent summary metric card styling

Fixes uneven heights and spacing of summary metric cards across Engagement reporting tabs (Subscriptions, Revenue, Email, Conversion) — cards with subtitle hints no longer create mismatched heights, and tiles distribute evenly even in tabs with fewer cards.

Why it matters: Reporting tabs now have a cleaner, more consistent look in line with the Experiences tab, making dashboards easier to scan.

Fixed silent truncation of section descriptions

Section/expert page descriptions longer than ~1024 characters were being silently cut off by a database limit that didn't match the 5,000-character limit enforced elsewhere, sometimes breaking page layout entirely. The database column has been widened to match.

Why it matters: Longer bios and descriptions — especially ones pasted from Word or Outlook — now save fully and display correctly instead of getting truncated or breaking the page.

Facebook social login no longer creates unnecessary email profile

Fixed the Facebook social login flow so it no longer creates an EmailProfile record as part of account creation.

Why it matters: Cleans up account data created via Facebook login, avoiding unnecessary or incorrect email profile records tied to social accounts.

Fixed duplicated lead video on post pages

When a video was set as the lead media on a post, it was rendering twice — once in the lead position and again at the top of the article body — instead of respecting the layout's video/image display settings. This also caused duplicate video player instances to load on the page.

Why it matters: Video articles now display the lead video only once, as intended. This also removes hidden duplicate video player loads that were inflating page load and could have skewed video-ad requests and view telemetry.

Fixed unauthorized cross-tenant post and author data access

Resolved a security issue where post data — including unpublished drafts — and author identity details could be accessed without proper authorization checks tying the request to the correct site.

Why it matters: Prevents publishers' unpublished content and author information from being exposed across sites, protecting content confidentiality and author privacy.

New way to retrieve user profile data by user ID

Adds a way to look up a user's profile data using their user ID.

Why it matters: Gives teams a straightforward, supported way to resolve user profile information from a user ID, rather than working around the lack of one.

Fixed missing item descriptions in listicle preview reviews

Evergreen review previews for listicles were missing description markup for item content because a required rendering flag wasn't being set for preview requests, after a backend default changed.

Why it matters: Editors reviewing suggested changes to listicles can now see full, correctly formatted item descriptions in previews again, rather than a broken or incomplete diff.

Fixed stuck section merges leaving old sections live

Merging or deleting a section (e.g., combining duplicate podcast sections) could stall partway through, or finish moving all content but never remove the old section — leaving it publicly accessible and locked in a "being removed" state with no way for operators to retry.

Why it matters: Merged or deleted sections are now fully and reliably cleaned up, so old duplicate sections stop appearing live and don't leave stale, orphaned pages reachable by visitors.
