Announcement: Big Changes Made to RebelMouse’s Creative Agency Team

On this gorgeous spring day in April 2019, I am very proud to announce the promotion of several key members on RebelMouse's team. They are all brilliant people who work closely with our most important clients, as well as our engineering, product, and design teams, to deliver the best sites on the internet. Please join me in congratulating them!

Sandra Orlic — Chief Creative Officer

I have never in my career met someone with the intellectual and creative capacity of Sandra. Since she began two years ago as an account manager at RebelMouse, literally every client she has worked with has sent me a personal love note about her help and involvement in bringing everything in a project together.

At RebelMouse, creativity is not just something we bring to the table as a service — we enable creativity in your own teams as well. Sandra has proven time and time again to have an inherent talent for bringing out the creative ideas in our clients and our own internal teams. Perhaps more importantly, she is incredibly talented at turning creative ideas into plans that get executed on time.

We believe deeply in continuously iterating based on data, new ideas, and opportunities. Sandra's personal passion and connection with the growth of our clients and our platform has brought happiness to them, to our team, and to me personally. Laughter comes quickly to Sandra and makes what we do fun. When Sandra is in a meeting, I will often hear a lot of giggling from her and others on the call. Nothing is a more wonderful North Star for creativity than happiness and laughter. These are only possible when everyone feels safe, comfortable, oriented, and enabled.

Soo Youn Lee — Director of Enterprise

Soo has been with RebelMouse for four years, and during her time she has focused most of her work on United Airlines, a flagship client of our company. Soo has a deep understanding of not just our platform, but also how to coordinate large-scale custom developments for the Fortune 500.

She is a strong communicator with exceptional organizational skills, which results in all of her projects being delivered on time. With a keen eye for design, she works closely with our clients and design team on translating ideas and visions into wonderful designs.

RebelMouse helps brands become new media companies, and there is nobody in the world better than Soo at getting on the ground to make it all come together to move the needle.

Amanda Alves — Director of Technical Account Management

Amanda joined RebelMouse one year ago. From the very first week on the job, we could tell Amanda was special. Not only was she taking projects live that very same week, but her passion for teaching and building community was clearly exceptional.

Amanda truly understands our platform and how it can be customized, and she understands the code and approaches it takes to get it done in a way that results in exceptional page speed scores and high-quality code.

She is a gifted and talented teacher, and under her leadership the technical account management team finds support and enablement, as well as a leader who can roll up her sleeves and help everyone meet deadlines. She won both my and all of her clients' respect immediately, and the whole team at RebelMouse thinks the world of her.

Adam Taylor — Director of Rebel Support

Adam has been an account manager at RebelMouse for two years. During his time here, he has worked with a wide variety of clients, ranging from the Fortune 1000 to large-scale media companies to non-profits making the world a better place.

He has a deep understanding of how our platform can be used strategically to accomplish goals, and how it can be customized to match the exact requirements of our clients.

RebelMouse as a platform has grown substantially since its nascent days. We now reach over 50 million people a month and have one of the largest site networks in the world. Having Adam lead the team that directly helps support our clients through their many years on our platform is a very exciting step for us as a company.

Thank You for Your Support!

To all of our many clients: Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for believing in a company run by a trans founder and CEO, for believing that women belong in tech and strategy, and for allowing us to help your business thrive. Thank you for believing in a company which proudly has no office and is enabling brilliant people across the globe to help you grow your business.

In 2022, Publishers Take Back Control With Subscription Success

Users are ready to pay for content that delivers

The Rise of the Mature User

It's been a long and winding path, but in 2022 the subscription model continues its upward trajectory as a top revenue strategy for publishers of all sizes. The tug of war between platforms and publishers reached its peak in the last few years of the previous decade, leaving users desperate for a modern user experience that's clear of any clutter from the duopoly that is Google and Facebook. This is why intelligent paywall models are a top choice for users looking to consume content right from the source. When done correctly, the strategy can work for any type of media. The New York Times, a frequent showpiece example of the power of paywalls, is constantly reporting record-busting subscription numbers, with 7.6 million digital subscriptions in 2021.

And it all makes perfect sense. The subscription model eliminates the middleman — such as the platforms — so readers get the experience and content they want, and publishers get the cash they need.
