RebelMouse is always on a mission to empower content teams big and small, because creating
engaging communities takes organized collaboration. This is why we've recently made some upgrades to our Version History tool to give users a full snapshot of the path to publish.
Here's a breakdown of the new changes:
Version History in the Right Rail
We now show a live play-by-play version of your editing history in the right rail. You can view it by clicking "Timeline" in the top bar of our Layout & Design tool:
Each milestone represents an action taken. We display what the action was, where it occurred, the name of the element that was modified, and how long it ago happened.
You can also choose whether or not to display code to see what snippet of XML was modified:
You'll also notice a "Full Version History" button in the top-right area of the Timeline:
Clicking the button will take you to a full-screen page that has all your saved versions (in code mode) for the current page. In this example, we're looking at the Home page:
In the top-right corner, there's a "Revert" button in case you want to return to any of your previous versions. If you want to go back to the design view, you can simply click the back button on your browser.
Here's a video of the new features in action:
Diff Support: Know Every Code Change
When viewing your Full Version History, you'll see the diffs in a page's code whenever you click on a specific version. Each time a version is saved, a new entry will be shown in the list.
You can also see the previous line of code highlighted in red, and what was modified highlighted in green:
