Target Social Accounts With Rebel Discovery

Chances are that only a fraction of your content is getting to the audiences it deserves. As a core component of the RebelMouse platform, Rebel Discovery give teams an efficient playbook to systematically connect content to the right audiences, build sustainable social relationships, and make distribution a strength in your organization.

How it works:

1) Target

We're blurring the lines and empowering writers to think content creation and distribution at the same time. The tags of your post will surface suggested Facebook & Twitter accounts to link to your content; edit the tags to optimize results article tags. For each post, select 2-5 discovered accounts that align with your editorial identity:

Pro tip #1: Instead of always going for the big names, be strategic and opt for lesser-known pages with solid fan bases. This increases the likelihood of building a content-sharing relationship.

Pro tip #2: To further attract attention and promote a Facebook page in your post's comments, check off 'Promote in comments' once you select a target account in Discovery search. Note: You can select only one account per post:

2) Connect

Social Outreach

Let account owners know your content exists and spark a relationship by sending subtle social pings in the form of an automatic 'like' of their recent post and/or directly emailing potential partners using built-in functionality.

Before you send social pings, you can easily choose to view which post the platform will like:

The result of sending a social ping:

If you opted to promote a target account in your post comments, here's how it looks on Facebook once the ping is sent:

Email Outreach

Don't feel restricted to just using the pings sent through Discovery. Switch to email outreach drafts, where email functionality is built into the workflow. RebelMouse automatically pulls in email addresses of account owners and template language so you can easily message them, say you love their page, and indicate you have great stories for their fans:

3) Optimize

At RebelMouse, we truly believe that the life of a story begins after publish. You can optimize your content at anytime + strategically modify tags, link more social accounts, and continue outreach efforts:

Pro tip: Use the Discovery bookmarklet to easily access full Discovery functionality from any published post.
