Linda Kowalski has received many accolades from government officials and business leaders alike. She is considered to be among the top lobbyists in Connecticut. Ms. Kowalski has 27 years of experience with public affairs consulting and government relations. During Linda's career, she has formed strong working relationships with her clients. This began with the O'Neill administration, and has spanned through the administrations of Govs. Weicker, Rowland, Rell and Malloy. Because of her bipartisan manner, she is respected by state legislators, municipal leaders, executive branch members, and officials in Congress. The work that she focuses on includes lobbying and consulting at the municipal, state and federal levels. Linda is well known for having a great deal of political savvy.
She is a hard worker who has achieved positive results. She is unmatched when it comes to planning and running successful grassroots lobbying campaigns. A good example of this is when she lobbied for the groundbreaking legislation to be passed for the Connecticut Association of Optometrists to expand their scope of practice so that they could serve the needs of patients more effectively. As part of the effort, Linda orcestrated a major grassroots advocacy program.Even though Linda is known for her lobbying and policy knowledge within the health care field, she is effective in other areas as well. Linda oversees all aspects of the operation of the Government Relations and Consulting Business for The Kowalski Group, L.L.C.
Her client list has expanded to be very diverse over the years. Linda has experience in the areas of retail sales policy, telecommunications, banking, the marine trades, retail automotive, financial services, private schools, public utilities, solid waste management, environmental issues, and nonprofit associations. Linda was recognized by the Hartford Business Journal in 1999, in the "Top 40 Under Forty" issue. She was honored among other young business achievers in the Greater Hartford area. Linda has been serving clients for many years. She is respected by many individuals she has worked with and for over the years.
She received an award from the Dental Hygienists Association in 1997 for her efforts towards advancing the profession of dental hygienists. Linda was recognized for the work that she did on a Student Center Bonding Bill. She also received a Distinguished Service Award for her numerous years of service to the field of optometry from the Connecticut Association of Optometrists. Other awards Linda has received include the Outstanding Service as a Legislative Consultant from the CAO, an appreciation award for her service to the podiatric medicine profession in 1993, and, that same year, a recognition from the Connecticut Campgrounds Owners Association.
In 2010, the CAO recognized Linda Kowalski "For Twenty-Five Years of Outstanding Service on Behalf of the CAO". In 2011, the Radiological Society of Connecticut presented an award to Linda A. Kowalski, The Kowalski Group, LLC, "In Appreciation of Many Years of Service to the Radiological Society of Connecticut". Linda Kowalski graduated cum laude from the Wheaton College, located in Norton, Massachusetts. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Government and Economics. She had internships with Connecticut Attorney General Joseph Lieberman and State Senator Michael L. Morano. Also, Lisa was part of an exchange program and attended Wesleyan University for a semester. She served as a government relations consultant upon graduation. She currently is a member of the Environmental Policies Council of the Connecticut Business and Industry Association, as well as a member of the Legislative Committee of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce. Linda Kowalski enjoys running, and has taken part in seven marathons. She qualified for the Boston Marathon in April of 2010. She came in third in the Vermont City Marathon for her age group.
