Conservatives, and I'm one of them, ridiculed President Obama's team for its "The Life of Julia" ad campaign as puerile and flat-out false. We weren't wrong on those points, but we missed the biggest point: wrong or not, juvenile or not, it was still an example of very good storytelling. I can say that because the Republican Party still can't let it go, even two months after the election and eight months after the Obama campaign rolled it out.

Good stories get told over and over again. That is the only measure of success.
