Duplicate post filtering per module: to repeat or not to repeat content?
You're browsing through your site's homepage, you're just checking all the modules you've sent up and suddenly you notice one of them is half empty.
You think "it's supposed to have 6 posts, not 3!"
Well fear not, there's nothing broken or malfunctioning -- it's our duplicate filtering system.
We have this system in place to avoid repeating the same articles incessantly across the site. Some very annoying examples:
See how dupes keep overflowing all the different post modules?
This is the main reason why RebelMouse chooses to enable all duplicate filtering as default.
But worry not! We still can solve your 6 post module missing 3 whole articles.
Let's say you want a module in your sidebar to display duplicate posts anyway, because otherwise it always looks too empty.
Click on the left nav > Layout & Design tool:
Go to the Post element you want to allow duplicates in, in our example the Side Bar, and scroll all the way down to advanced options in the Properties card.
In the Advanced Options you'll find a checkbox to allow duplicates:
And now that it allows dupes, it will show posts regardless if they are repeated in the homepage or not:
This can be done on any particular Post element you want, and you can easily activate duplicate filtering again by unchecking the box.
